The author of 'The Train to Impossible Places' will be talking about this and his new book 'The Great Brain Robbery' at 2 lucky Leicestershire schools on 10th October.






(Pupils at the two schools mentioned above can order books  through the school office, to be collected from the author at the events)

Join us in celebrating ten years of Kibworth Books and all things Children's Books at our inaugural Children's Book Festival 2019.




Calling all budding artists, picture book lovers and transport fans! Join Sarah for an interactive and artistic activity based around 'The Story of the London Underground'.  Hear about life as an illustrator and create your own art, to be included in a window display at Kibworth Books!

Join illustrator and author Pippa Curnick for a reading of her latest book, Chatterbox Bear, followed by a fun craft activity


Meet Gary the bear - he just can't stop chatting! A laugh-out-loud-funny story about friendship and understanding.

As part of the festival celebrations we're inviting all budding authors and illustrators to submit a short story based on the title "The Little Red Bookshop" and the wonderful illustration of the bookshop by local print artist Sarah Kirby. Share your memories of time spent in the bookshop or let your imagination run wild with a fantastical bookshop-inspired tale!


Our favourite entries will each win a £10 Kibworth Books Book Token and a goody bag stuffed with advance copy books, bookmarks, activity sheets and more.


Entries may be written, illustrated or both.

Length: up to 2 sides of A4, or purchase a 'Little Red Bookshop' card in-store and submit your entry inside.
