Saturday 4th April
9-10am
The Children's Room at The Barn, Kibworth Books
Welcome to our junior bookclub!
Each month, we choose a brilliant paperback read to talk about with children's book expert, librarian, former teacher and self-confessed bookworm Alyssia Chapman. Buy the book from Kibworth Books in advance and then enjoy a chat, a drink and a chance to hang out with other book-loving friends on the first Saturday of every month at the bookshop.
The event is super friendly and relaxed, and aimed at children aged 8-12.
April's book up for discussion is The Monsters at the End of the World by Rebecca Orwin.
Junior Book Club takes place outside of shop opening hours so parents are welcome to drop children off for the hour and enjoy a coffee in one of the local cafes!
To book your spot:
Add to basket - this ticket price includes your copy of the book and refreshments. You can collect this at your convenience to read ahead of the event, or select shipping and we'll post out to you.
NB: Please pop a note of your child's name and age in the 'Note to Bookseller' comment box at check out. This is just so we know who is coming!
About Alyssia:
Alyssia Chapman has worked as an English teacher and school librarian. She is now the Library Development Officer for the Creative Learning Services at Leicestershire County Council. She is also a regional judge for the Carnegies, the UK’s longest running and best-loved children’s book awards. Alyssia reads all kinds of books for children and young adults.
