Community Secret Santa is back!

In December 2024 we launched our 'Community Secret Santa', gifting Christmas presents to individuals and families in our community in collaboration with local, award-winning charity The Well. With over £1400 raised for the purchase of approx. 60 Christmas presents, we ran the scheme again in 2025 and were once again able to purchase gifts for 54 recipients.

Now, for the 3rd year running, we're re-launching the scheme for Christmas 2026.

As in previous years, we'll be teaming up with Andy and the wonderful team at The Well to deliver the scheme. Referrals of recipients are made to The Well via their links with the Food Bank, schools and local care homes and then are shared with us anonymously. The bookshop team uses this anonymised referral information to choose the perfect gift, ensuring that all recipients feel really cared for on Christmas Day!

Based on the previous two years running the scheme, we're hoping to raise at least £1500 between September and early December. This will ensure we're able to meet the needs of the local community and that every referral to us can be matched with a gift.
