Empathy Reads for Age 5+
Your Empathy Day Reading List
Thursday 9th June marks the sixth annual celebration of Empathy Day, a day focused on inspiring children and young people to learn more about empathy and its transformational power.
We know instinctively that books are positive tools for growth and societal change, a belief which is backed up by the science – immersing ourselves in the world of another character is proven to help us to understand and empathise with other people more effectively.
Each year, as part of the celebrations, an expert panel curates a ‘Read for Empathy’ book collection, packed with titles which are great for opening up conversations with children and young people around the idea of empathy. Browse below for the list of titles selected for children of Primary school age.
If you're a teacher or educator and you're looking to purchase books for classroom/library use, do get in touch to find out how to access our schools discount. We'd love to help.
