Creative Writing Workshop
Tuesday 6th October 2026, 7:00pm at Kibworth Books
Hone your inner novelist with our very own bookseller and creative writing expert, Aidan Trulove, as a part of our Go All In Season celebrating the National Year of Reading!
Come discuss your writing practice with other local authors. Feel free to bring a small sample (up to 500 words) of your own writing to share, or, if you're suffering from a classic case of writer's block, we'll also be trying some exercises to get your creative muscles moving. This workshop is open to all ages, skill levels, and preferred genres/forms, so join us for a night of friendly conversation and literary learning.
About Aidan: Aidan hails from Austin, Texas, and has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Leicester. She loves to read, write, and watch pretty much anything in the fantasy genre. She's currently working on finishing her first novel, and loves to share book recommendations. She is also a published poet, and judges writing competitions.
About the book for this session: Warm, entertaining, and above all thought-provoking, Daemon Voices provides a remarkable insight into the mind of one of our greatest writers. He explains which storytellers have meant the most to him, including William Blake and John Milton, why their work has resonated with him, and how it has inspired his own thinking. In over 30 essays, written over 20 years, Philip Pullman reveals the narratives that have shaped his vision, his experience of writing, and the keys to mastering the art of storytelling.
Tickets £10. Also available as a book + ticket option, or you can purchase your copy on the night (while supplies last). Both tickets include a welcome drink of wine/juice.
