Join us in welcoming illustrator Fiona Lumbers to Kibworth Books, in celebration of her latest book project with Children's Laureate Joseph Coelho, Luna Loves Gardening.
Fiona will be decorating our shop windows with some amazing Luna Loves artwork before meeting with children to sign copies of her books purchased at Kibworth Books.
This will be a fabulous opportunity for children to meet with an illustrator and ask about life as a creative.
Attendance for this event is free and there is no need to pre-book. We do however strongly encourage pre-ordering of the books you would like Fiona to sign to avoid any disappointment on the day.
If you are unable to attend the event but would like to order a book for signing and collection after this event, please place your book order and we will ensure Fiona signs your book(s) for you.
About Fiona
Fiona Lumbers has drawn on anything and everything from an early age and always insisted she would be an artist when she grew up. Fiona moved to London in 2000 to study for an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art. A combination of her obsession with picture books and the arrival of her first son led her down the path of illustration and she hasn't looked back since. Nothing makes her happier than splashing watercolours and inks and conjuring up new characters - often influenced by the exploits of her two sons.
About the Book
By award-winning Children's Laureate Joseph Coelho and illustrated by Fiona Lumbers, the fifth book in the Luna Loves... series brings alive the art of gardening. Luna is wowed by her local community garden, there are squashes and runner beans, potatoes and tomatoes and even an apple tree.
But each plant hides a story. Grandpa and Nana show her the Callaloo their family grew in Jamaica. It’s time for Luna to grab a trowel and sow seeds that will tell a new story for the whole community as they all discover their connection to the entire world.
