Jane Austen's Birthday Celebration

Doors open 6.30pm

Join us for a celebration of all things Austen on the date of her birth day.

The event will feature:

• an author discussion panel on 250 years of the writer's history, her beloved works, and her impact on modern storytelling
• an 'All Things Austen' bookstall
• period-inspired drinks
• playing a Jane Austen puzzle game!

Costumes (very much) encouraged but not required.

About the panel: 

Satu Hameenaho-Fox

SATU HÄMEENAHO-FOX is an Elizabeth Bennett with a Marianne Dashwood rising. She is an author of books about culture and celebrity, including Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, Zendaya, and Lady Gaga. She has also written several children’s books on art and fashion history for New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. She lives in London.

Gemma Barder

Gemma Barder lives in Market Harborough, Leicester, with her family and a mischievous cocker spaniel. She started life working in children’s and pre-teen magazines before moving into the world of publishing. She’s now a freelance writer full time and writes activity books, treasuries, novels and storybooks for children, as well as publishing her own magazine. Gemma writes a wide range of children’s books for Sweet Cherry, including adapting Classic authors such as Austen into child friendly versions. She's also - needless to say - a huge Austen fan!
